The first person ever to run across the continent of Africa, Jonathan O'Hanlon is an inspiration for all. A desert runner and tremendous motivational speaker, Jonathan O'Hanlon is a man of many talents that has combated the harshest of conditions and come out on top. O’Hanlon was born in Portsmouth and lived in both Weymouth and Bournemouth until the age of 7 when he and his family moved to Cape Town, South Africa where he went on to have a wide-ranging and interesting career. Beginning with 14 years in the SA Navy from which he resigned as a Lieutenant Commander, followed by time in the corporate world in IT project and programme management before leaving to set up his own business in this field for 13 years. These experiences alone allowed Jonathan to compile an impressive knowledge base to draw upon for corporate functions where he can eloquently discuss business models, technology and entrepreneurship as well as utilising the skills learnt from his time in the Navy to help clients instil winning cultures and environments.

An avid sportsman and fitness fanatic, alongside his working commitments Jon also qualified as a personal trainer during this time, as well as completing the advanced train the trainer course. This sheer grit, determination and hard work stood him in great stead when he took on the desert and now allows him to share his incredible journey with guests while he works as a speaker. Putting IT behind him, although not totally as he still does consulting work in the regulatory compliance field, already a cricket, hockey, golf and multi-day trail running coach, Jon then moved into the field where his passion lies and is now a life coach, executive coach, life enhancement specialist, inspirational speaker, and relationship mediator.

Somewhere along the way, he managed to also write and self-publish his popular book, Can Anyone Here Sing? – Six Perspectives of Peace.
