Jonathan Acott has a truly inspirational story to tell as a 6-time cancer survivor who has completed an Ironman and a proven track record establishing plans and work assignments within specific timeframes. Jonathan approaches his speaking events candidly with a genuine presenting style, telling the tale of how surgeries left more than just a physical scar on his body. He aims to transform his audiences’ lives by teaching them how to make the most out of themselves, explaining the benefits of both physical and mental fitness.
Upon graduating from Brunel University London in BSc Management Science, Jonathan then went on to complete his Postgraduate Certificate of Business Administration, Sports and Major Event Management from The University of Manchester. Jonathan led a successful career as a manager for a wide range of companies, some of his highlights include working as the BDM and Product Manager for European Management Group, Assistant General Manager and Operations Manager for Next Generation Clubs, and the General Manager of Fusion Lifestyle. Never in his wildest dreams, at aged just 29, would he think he would get the diagnosis of testicular cancer, let alone relapse four times, and then later get diagnosed with bowel cancer.
Jonathan shares how he battled with PTSD, depression, and anxiety, along with numerous redundancies and a reduced life expectancy from the months of chemotherapy he had to endure. With his life quite literally on the line, Jonathan is determined to make the most of his life, living it to the full. He has certainly accomplished this dream having walked on fire, climbed mountains, swam in lakes, and ran ultra-marathons. Jonathan’s next target is to run a marathon on every continent.
Despite the many lows he has faced, Jonathan shares how he has managed to live his best life, and teaches his audience how they can do the same in both their personal and work life. Johnathan’s empathetic and humorous approach is a huge hit with all audiences from a wide range of industries and boasts clients such as WWF, Bournemouth University, Salomon, Wiser and KHWS. "From the time I first spoke to Jonathan, it was clear he would be an inspiring speaker. He supported our conference and attended the full conference, which is important to us, as we want our speakers to feel part of the day. His talk was funny, inspiring, honest and impactful. We will book Jonathan again, his messages are still being talked about and impact the service focus of our staff.
This is our 8th conference and we have booked many speakers and Jonathan is one of our 'stand out' speakers, with staff saying this was the best conference ever.

“Jonathan came to talk to a group of student dietitians as part of a university module. He is a very engaging speaker and had the students laughing throughout whilst touching on his challenging health journey. It is inspiring to see how Jonathan can also include life skills and motivational support to the students whilst being happy to be open and honest about his time as a patient. Thank you very much!” - Emily Betts RD, Lead Clinical Placement Facilitator
“I felt extremely privileged to attend a talk this evening by Jonathan Acott. “Own Your Carrot” was an inspiring tale of Jonathan’s last 15 years living with 6 diagnoses and treatments for cancer and his life alongside this. The talk drew heavily on Jonathan’s resilience and positivity he developed as he has steered his way through his life over the past 15 years. It was honest to the point of brutality as he quickly dispatched the information regarding his cancers, their diagnosis or lack of, and corresponding treatments. His surgeries he described as punctuating his desire to keep moving, and maintain, as much as possible, his health. It was quite breathtaking that while still in the immediate recovery from major surgery he had made his mind up to run the Berlin marathon. This just went to illustrate the strength, determination and resilience of his character. Jonathan’s talk cleverly reverberated amongst the group by focusing on the importance of self. Something I feel as a bariatric patient I had lost along the way before surgery, and have regained in the months following. I found Jonathan’s honesty and vulnerability incredibly endearing, he was inspirational but also incredibly real. He said it how it is, and for that he has my utmost respect. An incredibly thought provoking evening. Thank you very much indeed." - Julia Spindler, Director of Clinical Services, Spire Park Hospital
