John Fitzpatrick

Former professional racing driver John Fitzpatrick is an active after dinner speaker popular in Europe and the United States. Known for driving both Porsche and Jaguar vehicles, Fitzpatrick has contributed to some of the most high profile events in the racing calendar.

John is remembered as one of the best Porsche drivers and motorsports speakers of his era and garnered a number of prestigious trophies and titles for the team. Some of his most high profile achievements include: 1st place at the 1972 and ‘74 European GT Championship and the IMSA Camel GT Championship (1980).

A successful driver regardless of team, John gained a number of other titles throughout the 1960s, 70’s and 80’s including 1st in the BRSCC British Saloon Car Championship (1966) as well as reaching the top three at the 1970 RAC British Saloon Car Championship and the 1980 World Challenge for Endurance Drivers. John Fitzpatrick continues to work as both a driver and sports speaker at Porsche events, taking part in a number of famed and historic races in recent years as well as attending many of the brand’s events as an after-dinner speaker.

In addition to working as a sports speaker John Fitzpatrick has also established an impressive career as a racing manager, creating his own team, John Fitzpatrick Racing in the early 1980s, which went on to compete in numerous Grand Prix events. He also spent several years at Silverstone as a Director and the Secretary of the British Racing Drivers Club. John has been featured in a number of racing publications and has even contributed as a writer for a number of specialist motorsports books.

Now enjoying his retirement, John Fitzpatrick remains an important name in the world of motorsports racing, he has been invited to Goodwood every year since its inception and has played an integral role in the development and success of some of the most prominent drivers of recent years.
