Four time Olympian Jo Pavey has formed an exceptional reputation as a long-distance runner, finding her success across the 10,000 meter and 5000 meter events. An athlete who has been at the top of her game for over a decade, Jo Pavey is an excellent addition to any event, proving especially popular as an after dinner speaker and Olympic speaker. She has plenty of experience across her sport and is an eloquent sports speaker with a dynamic edge to her appearances. An illustrious career which has seen her appear at all the major athletics events, Pavey most notably achieved silver at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games. Appearing at the London 2012 Olympic Games, Pavey enjoyed an ultimately successful 2012 claiming Silver at the European Championships.
Most of Jo’s career was dominated by track running, however in 2006 she made a slow move into the field of road racing. She also came third in the Great North Run, being narrowly beaten by a mere two seconds. In 2009 Jo took a break from the sport to have a child, before returning in 2010. In her first race back after her year break Jo came second, competing in the Great Ireland Run. At the 2012 London Olympic Games Jo competed in the 5000m race and 10000m race, finishing seventh in both events. After her performance in a series of competitions, she received a number of awards for her hard work and determination. She was in third place for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards 2014 and named British Sport of the year 2014 at the SJA Awards.
Her other awards include British Athletics - British Athlete of the Year, British Athletics Writers Association - British Female Athlete of the Year, British Athletics Supporters Club - British Athlete of the Year, Daily Mirror - British Inspirational Sports Performance of the Year and Cosmopolitan Magazine - Ultimate Sports Women of the Year. Direct, exceptional and compelling during her Olympic Speaker duties, her ability to attend events and enchant the audience into following her stories and experiences is exceptional. An excellent sports speaker on the topics of hard work, dedication and peak performance, Jo Pavey is sought-after thanks to the large amount of respect and success she has experienced on the track. "The event was a resounding success and Jo was amazing, she went down a storm. Please pass on our formal thanks. Thank you for all your assistance" - Martin, AOL
"Jo was absolutely brilliant at this year’s Sussex Sports Awards. She was very professional in the build-up, and made a real effort to learn about our event and the guests that she would be speaking to. Jo comes across as a very real and normal person, who has achieved remarkable feats in her life, and our guests found that hugely inspirational. I’ve had so many comments from guests about how friendly Jo was, and she stayed afterwards chatting away to some of them. Thank you so much to Champions UK for recommending and arranging Jo; she fitted the bill perfectly!" - Ed, Active Sussex
