Jess Wilson is a recognised tech entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and advocate for women’s rights law reform. She is the founder of STASHD, a mobile fashion app that has expanded to 130 countries and featured 3,000 brands. She is also the co-founder of Women Making Waves, a tech venture that funds and scales women’s rights law reform in Australia and the United States.
Jess’s entrepreneurial journey began at 16, organising events on her family’s farm. At 22 she founded STASHD, a mobile fashion discovery app, often described as “Tinder for fashion”, allowing users to swipe right to stash an item of clothing and to the left to discard them. The app simplifies online shopping by enabling users to curate their style preferences. STASHD saw Jess as a grand finalist in China’s version of Shark Tank x The Apprentice ‘The Next Unicorn’ which aired to 15M people per episode. In 2016 Jess pursued and won an 18-month legal battle after being sexually assaulted by a prospective investor. This inspired her to co-found Women Making Waves (WMW) with Hayley Evans. WMW is a tech venture that funds and scales women’s rights law reform in Australia and the United States. WMW collaborates with experts who have successfully changed over 45 laws. WMW has partnered with big names such as Google, TikTok, Speedo, Airbnb and Deepak Chopra’s The Chopra Foundation. More recently Jess has co-founded Waves Tech Ventures, a company that leverages emerging technology to create impact.
