James Hogg is an acclaimed celebrity ghostwriter and collaborator, who has authored two Sunday Times #1 and multiple Top 10 Bestsellers. Writing for a host of celebrities, including former F1 drivers Johnny Herbert and Damon Hill, strongman Eddie Hall and footballer Robbie Savage, James has helped convey the lives of many acclaimed people in story. Now hired as an event host and public speaker, James shares insights from his career writing for many acclaimed sports stars and actors.
Having left school at 15 with no qualifications, James has carved himself an incredible career working with countless celebrities, writing their life stories. Initially working in theatre and media sales, James was the Head of Commercial Sales at Headingley Cricket Ground when he penned his first two biographies – “Little Ern” and “What’s the Bleeding Time?”. His first venture into the world of ghost writing was for the European, Olympic and World Champion ice skaters, Torvill and Dean. James worked with Torvill and Dean to publish their book “Our Life on Ice”, before being sought after by Brian Blessed to publish his now best-selling book “Absolute Pandemonium". Brian was so impressed with James’ work that he collaborated with him to publish the sequel “The Panther in My Kitchen”.
Since then, James has penned various other books documenting the lives of legends. More of James’ prominent works include working with the late national treasure, Bernard Cribbins, to author his book “Bernard Who?”, with Damon Hill and Johnny Herbert on the book “Lights Out, Full Throttle” and with Jason Plato on the book “How Not to Be a Professional Racing Driver” – two titles that were shortlisted at the Telegraph Sports Book of the Year Awards. Most recently, James has been working with Guenther Steiner, star of the Netflix series “Drive to Survive”, to help him break into the literary and live theatre worlds. Currently, the pair are embarking on the tour "An Evening with Guenther Steiner", written by James, currently making their way across the UK and Ireland for 45 dates. Prior to working with Guenther, James spent a year working on a memoir for Timothy West, detailing his 60-year marriage, titled "Pru & Me".
Now hired as a keynote speaker and event host, James Hogg delivers a unique blend of humour and behind-the-scenes insights on being a storyteller for many of the greatest sportsmen and celebrities. Whether he’s touring with Guenther Steiner or ghost writing for stars like Torvill and Dean or Robbie Savage, James knows how to engage an audience. As a host, James maintains audience engagement and keeps everyone entertained. Hire James Hogg as a speaker or event host for corporate events, sports panels or awards nights, you do not want to miss his insights!

Official Feedback from In-Person & Virtual Events
"I have been working with James almost constantly since the beginning of 2021. In that time, we have written two internationally bestselling books together and have performed in shows and at events across the globe. As a writer, James' record speaks for itself, but as an interviewer, host and raconteur, he is just incredible. Nobody can hold a room (or a theatre) like Hoggy can, and he has the quickest sense of humour of anyone I know. Everything is always so effortless with him, which I have to say brings out the best in me. He's a good guy and a dream to work with." - Guenther Steiner
"Comfortable in front of an audience, witty and self-deprecating in his intro and crucially, putting Guenther at his ease and getting the best out of him – the tour was a triumph. James is an excellent listener – another crucial trait of a host – which means he can respond to what’s happening on the stage (and in the audience), rather than sticking rigidly to his notes. Indeed, while he does his research, of course, he effortlessly pivots and changes things around to keep himself, Guenther and the audience on their toes. It’s a challenge to interview the same person for what will end up being 70 dates in the UK, as well as 9 in Australia, without things becoming automatic, but somewhat like an athlete, James is always refining his technique. Crucially, they are both having fun." - James, Fane Productions
