Jameela Jamil is widely known as a radio presenter, actress and model, charming the general public with her personable character. However, before long Jameela found herself auditioning for acting roles and diversified into her acting career. Since her first auditions, Jameela has become a regular cast member of The Good Place and has provided her vocals for DuckTales, Big City Greens, Crossing Swords and Harley Quinn. Quickly establishing a celebrity status, Jameela has also appeared on shows such as Celebrity Juice, The Great Comic Relief Bake Off, Hollywood Game Night and Last Call with Carson Daly.
Throughout her life, Jameela has been subject to great adversity. When she was born, Jameela had congenital hearing loss and labyrinthitis and was later diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. When she was 12, she was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease and she has also battled with Anorexia. Jameela is a true inspiration, continually proving that despite disease and disability that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. After battling with Anorexia for many years of her life, Jameela is now regarded as an activist for body positivity, bringing awareness to oppressive beauty standards and unhealthy body image. She has created her own Instagram brand, named I Weigh, to empower people with body positivity and acceptance and is critical of the way in which fashion magazines portray beauty. Jameela has also founded Why Not People?, an event company producing entertainment that is accessible for people with disabilities.
