Comedian and compere Ian Richards has been successfully touring on the corporate and after dinner speaker circuit for more than forty years appearing at events around the world and entertaining audiences across Europe and America. Beginning his career as a comedian in the late 1970s Ian Richards started off playing the British Isle’s seasonal clubs and holiday destinations, over the years he has performed before crowds both big and small, playing large venues and intimate gigs; in more recent years Richards has added compere and master of ceremonies’ duties to his portfolio and has hosted events for Manchester Football Club, The Prince’s Trust, The Royal Bank of Scotland and The Air Ambulance.
As well as his corporate work Ian Richards is proud to have worked as a comedian and entertainer for the British armed forces both at home and abroad, playing more than 500 shows on the British mainland alone Richards has performed his comedian’s act for troops in the Falkland’s and across Europe. Also a proud Water Rat Ian Richards frequently appears as the host or comedian at the society’s balls and charity events and has previously been voted Rat of the Year 2013.

“Ian was an absolute star on the evening, he arrived in plenty of time (extra early actually which threw us off slightly lol) The room we had booked for our guests wasn’t quite ready but we settled Ian in a room with Mark Saggers and he was more than happy to wait and reassured us he was fine.
When we moved Ian upstairs to the room next to the event I went in and had a quick briefing session with Ian on all the Live auction prizes, he was very professional and calm and seemed completely comfortable in what he was doing. I felt confident he would go out there and do a great job from the minute I met him.
Ian is such a professional and on a personal level a very likeable and all round nice gentleman. Ian took it upon himself to be at the right place at the right time without me having to worry and made an extra effort to chat to other members of the support team he met on the night.
Ian done a great job with the Auction. I am sure he would have told you, they were not the easiest of crowds and he had to contend with a lot of background noise and really try hard to have the crowds full attention- however he did manage and also got the big money in which was the aim of the night.
