Ian Irving is one of the best-known names in corporate comedy, as a hugely popular after-dinner speaker for international occasions. Having been a regular feature of the media for much of the late 80s and 90s, Ian gained a reputation for his natural humour and ability to engage a crowd. Fast forward and Ian remains a popular entertainer, with more than 30 years of experience, Ian is consistently hailed as one of the best in the business. Able to offer a bespoke service to each client, Ian delivers a first-class performance whether he is booked as an auctioneer, after dinner speaker or stand-up, a true professional.
As a comedian, Ian has travelled throughout the world to perform stand-up sets. From appearing alongside famous faces at the London Palladium, to entertaining audiences at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Ian has graced some of the country’s most prestigious stages. Recognized for his ability to tailor his content to the crowd, Ian reads a room, then effortlessly adapt this comedy content. Clever jokes for businesses or snappy gags for sports awards, no matter the occasion, Ian thrives. Ian’s career has crossed many paths, including supporting leading musicians live, like The Jersey Boys, Lionel Richie and Bonnie Tyler, a testament to his versatility as an act.
Being one of the first Black British acts on the UK comedy circuit, Ian carved his own career, and with much success. Rising to prominence on Surprise Surprise with Cilla Black, Ian later joined Richard Digance for a full UK tour, gaining further recognition amongst the public. Often called on to warm up audiences at the start of his career, Ian performed for the guests recording Blankety Blank, and Brush Strokes, in addition to appearing on Celebrity Square with Bob Monkhouse. Eventually, Ian was booked for his own show, Stand and Deliver, earning the commission due to his popularity.

With previous clients including HSBC, British Airways, Mercedes Benz and The Belfry to name a few, Ian has proven himself an adaptable and brilliantly funny comedian for the corporate sector. "The night was a real success. Gary ran the evening seamlessly and Harry was great with the punters and a great Speaker who spoke for at least 45 minutes then stayed on for photo’s etc. I have to say Ian Irving was Brilliant and we had lots of good feedback from him also so all good! Thanks for everything!" - Wayne Thomas, Commercial Manager, Walsall Football Club Ltd
"The golf day was a raging success and this was in no small part down to Ian’s performance in the evening. I had high hopes that he would be very good but he was so much better than we could have hoped for. He has fantastic charisma and his ability to work the audience was impressive. There is always a bit of trepidation when you book an act, especially when the audience is relatively unknown, but I needn’t have worried as Ian was first class. Over and above this, Ian was great company (this has been passed on to me by those who had the pleasure to share a table with him) and, unlike most guest speakers who we have had who cannot wait to get away, Ian was there to the very end chatting, which was an unexpected bonus. Rest assured that we would happily look to re-book Ian again for future events and to recommend him to others. Please pass on my thanks to Ian on behalf of ENGIE and also from St Joseph’s Hospice." - Chris Doyle, Engie
