A 10-times award-winning Philanthropist, Entrepreneur, Author and Social Justice advocate, London-born, racially non-binary and LGBT, Ian Clarke, 36, has been recognised by Rising Stars, Social Entrepreneur Index and Millennium Volunteers for a lifetime supporting, developing, and championing underrepresented talent. He holds 9 charted certifications in Psychology, Therapy, Management, DE&I and Investment Banking, plus 15 years' investment banking experience over 2 continents advising many of the world's largest firms on financial success.
Prior to becoming a leading progressive voice on human rights, corporate oppressive systems, diversity & inclusion, human identity and uniqueness, Ian founded and/or co-led 5 People Committees and Employee Networks collectively representing over 12,000 colleagues from marginalised communities. His authority comes from extraordinary life experiences, complex intersectionality, and an ability to represent anyone by listening and then projecting empathy.
In 2021, his efforts to advance sustainable business practices globally culminated in his landmark 'Project Speak Up' DE&I report and change campaign that catalogued the causes, costs and solutions of oppression in global financial services. Covered through press and TV news in 16 languages across 120 countries, his one-man efforts to transform banking broke 5 CSR-related world records including:
- The first black female board appointment at a major international bank in history
- The first 3 simultaneous black board appointments at a major international bank in history
- Creation of the world's largest private network of active banking whistleblowers
He now leads Deilight Consulting, a multi-award-winning commercially-minded Culture Transformation practice, think tank and social enterprise pioneering new rights and opportunities for marginalised communities worldwide. Ian exists to ensure humanity can reach its full potential. Why do you exist?
