Hayley Mulenda is an award-winning author, international speaker, mental health advocate and change agent. After almost committing suicide herself in 2016, Hayley has made it her mission to create more awareness of mental health and illnesses and bring attention to the mental health pandemic that is rising amongst future generations. Inspired to become a voice for those who felt voiceless, Hayley is the author of The ABC’s To Student Success and a popular speaker for a range of corporate events. Hayley has also dedicated time to being the President of the Youth Advisory Board for Migrant Leaders, an Ambassador for One Young World, a Camp Counsellor for YMCA of Greater New York and a Youth Councillor and Young Mayor Candidate for London Borough of Newham. Her driven attitude has earned Hayley countless awards, such as the Positive for Youth Inspire Award and the Jack Petchey Achievement Award. She has also been recognised as the Most Influential and Inspirational Black Entrepreneur in the UK for Under 21s and been a runner up for the 2017 Queens Young Leader. She has also claimed The Best Congo Award Best Author/Writer award and was listed fourth on the Top 10 Black Students in the United Kingdom by Rare Recruitment.
Currently a Brand Board Member for Wagamama, Hayley has previously been invited to deliver the TEDx talk ‘The Danger of Being a Role Model’ and spoken at Microsoft HQ and for senior leaders at Unilever. Working with senior leaders and management, Hayley encourages the implementation of change, synergy and strategy to ultimately improve the world around us. Sharing her story of mental health and suicide, Hayley has spoken everywhere from the Houses of Parliament to Wembley Stadium on themes of wellbeing, personal development and vulnerability.
