Hannah Diamond is a Professional Sailor, former Olympic training partner and member of the British Sailing Team. At the forefront of a previously male-dominated sport, Hannah has developed the expertise, strength and mindset to succeed in professional sailing. A competitive female sailor, Hannah can speak about performing in extreme environments, overcoming adversity and standing out in a male dominated sport.
Whilst at the University of Exeter, Hannah completed a BSc in Sport and Exercise Sciences, then a MSc in Sports Medicine. Alongside her studies, Hannah was a training partner for those in the British Olympic trials leading up to Beijing 2008, as a member of the Laser Radial Olympic Development Squad. Building on her sailing experience, Hannah went on to work as a National Junior Squad Coach for the Royal Yachting Association.
Joining the British Sailing Team, Nacra 17 Crew Olympic Campaign 2016, with the objective of becoming the official Olympic team for Rio 2016, Hannah participated in several events. Gaining a silver at the World Championships in 2013, she went on to win bronze in the 2014 World Cup Miami and a silver at the USA Midwinters in 2015. Testing her skill, endurance and knowledge, Hannah also competed in the notoriously difficult Volvo Ocean Race in 2017/2018, going around the world in the race. Joining a group of elite athletes, Hannah was part of SailGP GBR 2021/2022.
Pressing on with her sailing career, Hannah is on track to become a qualified physiotherapist. Passionately believing in the importance of combining sports with a healthy lifestyle, she has become an outspoken advocate for sport and exercise as a method for improving health.
