Gillian Tett is a journalist renowned for her coverage of financial, economic, political and social issues. Enjoying great success with the Financial Times, Gillian currently works as the Chair of the Editorial Board and the US Editor-at-Large of the Financial Times, and is renowned as the Co-Founder of Moral Money. Back in 1993, Gillian began her career working as a Correspondent for the Financial Times. During her time as a journalist, Gillian has built great authority in reporting on financial and economic stories. In particular, her ethnographic research on JP Morgan and articles on financial derivatives, securitization and credit have earned her great esteem, and have led her to author bestselling books – titled Saving the Sun, Fool’s Gold, The Silo Effect and Anthro-Vision.
Gillian is also famed for her coverage of the financial crisis of 2008, with her book Fool’s Gold speaking about it in depth and earning her the Spear’s Book Award for the Financial Book of the Year. Aside from journalism, Gillian has also extended her expertise to academia, appointed as the Provost of King’s College, Cambridge – committed to her role as a senior academic administrator. Such a distinguished career has earned Gillian countless awards, such as the Tepper School of Business Award for Professional Excellence from Carnegie Mellon University. She has also claimed the Society of American Business Editors & Writers Award for Best Feature Article, Columnist of the Year at the British Press Awards, Journalist of the Year at the British Press Awards and the President’s Medal of the British Academy.
