Having started out in television production after graduating from University College Falmouth with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Broadcasting. Her subsequent career was as a producer mostly in the realms of sports tv.
However, it soon became clear that Gemma's biggest strength was her ability to reach out to audiences and engage with her interviewees on screen rather than behind it. After an opportunity to work as an on-screen reporter for a big sailing regatta in 2015, she has been presenting, reporting and hosting ever since. Working both on screen and stage, Gemma connects sports personalities, celebrities, brands and events with their audiences in a warm and personable manner with an infectious passion and energy.
Gemma has a diverse resume as well as a varied skill set and a range of interests including adventure, scuba diving, sharks, ocean and wildlife conservation and long-distance running to name a few. Gemma is always thorough in researching every project she is involved with, this has allowed her to work on a huge range of projects and events.
Enjoying live event hosting, large (into the thousands) or very intimate audiences, she likes presenting to a camera for both live and for pre-recorded programmes. To quote Gemma herself: "I'm all about engaging with guests/audiences and creating a meaningful and memorable experience for all - connecting the audience with the brand/event/personalities they have come to see."
She particularly specialises in the entertainment and sports genres, having hosted the America's Cup and America's Cup World series, Volvo Ocean Race, F1H2O World Powerboat Championships, World Taekwondo Championships and National Fitness Games to name just a few. She will be hosting the Formula 1 British Grand Prix VIP area and presenting their fan tv too this July. She has also hosted a sit down 'fireside chat' with double Olympic gold medallist Victoria Pendleton in front of a live audience.
Not only does Gemma enjoy presenting for entertainment and sports genres, but she also has a passion for wildlife and adventure, having presented on the Discovery Channel for a show about Great White Sharks.
