A graduate from Oxford University, Gelong entered the profession of acting after completing his prestigious education. Thriving in the performance industry, Gelong was successful in London and New York, but felt the stress and strain in his early 20s of such a fast-paced life. After turning to monastery, Gelong completed six years of training at meditation retreats, and was ordained in 1993 as a Tibetan Monk. Realising the benefits and fulfilment of a mindful life, Gelong has been teaching such practices for over 20 years, in a corporate environment.
Publishing his teachings into an award-winning book, Gelong is the author behind ‘A Monk’s Guide to Happiness’ in 2019, which was a number one Best Seller on Amazon, and a Sunday Times Top 10 book. Recently, he has collaborated with mental health expert, Ruby Wax, on ‘How to be Human’ which was also a best seller. He currently contributes to Mindvalley who he also speaks on behalf of at global events.
