Garima Avtar

Garima Avtar is defying the odds and expectations in India. Her professional career spans multiple industries from journalism to professional rallying. She is a former member of Professional Mahindra Rally Team excelling as a speed distance rally driver. Not only that but Garima successfully climbed the corporate ladder to become the Corporate Vice President of Delton Cables building her career from the ground up. Now booked as a speaker Garima Avtar is an inspiration to women everywhere but even more so in India.

Garima has broken through glass ceilings to become one of the exceedingly few female rally drivers in India, taking the sport by storm she has competed in almost all of the countries major motorsport competition, as well as organising her own competitions and expeditions.

Although beginning her racing career late in her early 30s she has demonstrated a persistent will to excel in the sport, becoming a Mercedes Benz Luxe Drive programme instructor. Garima has also won Best Female Driver in 2013 at the Maruti Desert Storm Rally Raid De Himalayas. Garima is also a test driver for Porsche participating on behalf of Porsche Centre Gurgaon such is her reputation as a driver.

In her journalistic career Garima has been active in the motorsport world for a number of years presenting at prestigious tv shows such as Mahindra Baja SAEIndia in 2018 and Maruti Suzuki Raid de Himalaya in 2017. When not in a car or appearing on television screens Garima organises events as the Country Committee Chairperson, India for Motorsport All Ladies League.  In addition, she launched ‘Wander Women’ the first all women’s self drive expedition - a ground-breaking achievement for women in motorsport in India.

She has been the recipient of several awards in recognition of her hard work and her ability to defy expectations for women in India, she has been ‘Superwoman’ at Radio One 94.3 FM, and ‘Super Mom 2017’ she has also been listed by the Women Economic Forum as an ‘Iconic Woman Creating A Better World For All’. In her speaking career, Garima has delivered on stage for major organisations such as TEDx, TIE Delhi and the Army Institute of Management & Technology. Quite simply, she is a phenomenal woman and an outstanding motivational speaker.
