Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff is best known as a former England cricket captain and one of the sport’s most successful all-rounders. Since retiring, he has built a successful career as a television presenter, broadcaster and coach, while also inspiring audiences through his engaging and motivational keynote speaking. Known for his humour and quick-witted comebacks, Freddie is a fan favourite on shows like Top Gear, alongside Chris Harris, Paddy McGuinness and Matt LeBlanc. In his keynotes, his charisma shines through as he shares insights on sports and leadership. Freddie has also experienced several setbacks and struggles throughout his career, giving his talks on resilience, depth and authenticity. For a versatile speaker with a colourful career, Freddie Flintoff is the perfect choice.
In 1998, Freddie made his cricket debut against South Africa. Playing for Lancashire County, Chennai Super Kings and the Brisbane Heat, Freddie’s cricket career spanned 15 years. However, Freddie’s most notable moments arguably came whilst representing England, historically winning the Ashes in 2005 and 2009. Scoring 2,975 runs and taking 168 wickets in One Day Internationals, Freddie is one of England’s most successful players. For his tremendous role in the 2005 Ashes win, he was voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year. This year would also see him awarded ICC Player of the Year and PCA Player of the Year. For his services to cricket, Freddie received an MBE from HRH in 2006. In 2009, Freddie decided to retire from professional cricket following a persistent knee injury and medical advice; however, he quickly transitioned into a much-loved TV personality.
Freddie's first major appearance was as the much-loved team captain on ‘A League of Their Own’, alongside Jamie Redknapp and James Corden. In the following years, Freddie would produce and star in his own TV projects, including ITV2’s ‘Freddie Flintoff Versus the World’ and BBC documentary ‘The Hidden Side of Sport’. In radio, he hosted a BBC Radio 5Live show, titled ‘Flintoff’s Ashes Roadshow’, where he would offer his expert analysis and commentary. A few years later, Freddie toured his live podcast show ‘2nd Innings’ across the UK. Taking his love for cricket further, Freddie established the Freddie Flintoff Cricket Academy in 2008 to help make cricket more accessible. He also won a Royal Television Society Award for his cricket-themed TV programme, 'Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams on Tour', where he helped young people find their purpose through cricket. In 2024, Freddie was announced as the host for the 'Bullseye' reboot, solidifying him as a true national treasure. Freddie is currently the Head Coach of the England Lions. Adding to his many books, Freddie released his latest title, ‘Coming Home’, in 2025, immediately achieving Sunday Times Bestseller status.
Freddie’s diverse and constantly evolving career has made him a well-rounded and adaptable speaker, able to share experiences from an elite sporting background or a TV and entertainment perspective. His personal battles, including recovering from a serious car crash, also mean Freddie knows first-hand how to navigate uncertainty and stay resilient.
