Award-winning Scottish comedian, Fern Brady has taken the comedy circuit by storm over the past decade and continues to dominate with her brilliant original and hilarious content. From stage to screen and every platform in between, Fern has made her presence known, and has garnered a loyal fan base because of it. Whether she’s performing a full stand up set to an event audience or providing quick quips throughout proceedings as a host, Fern appeals to a range of demographics and is guaranteed to have your guests in hysterics.
A familiar face on the television comedy scene, Fern was instantly in demand to appear on the small screen from her debut. Showcasing her naturally hilarious and spontaneous jokes, Fern can be seen on the likes of: 8 Out of 10 Cats, The Alternative Comedy Experience, and the iconic Live at the Apollo. After reaching the finals of the Piccadilly Comedy Club new act competition in 2012 and the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year 2013, Fern’s media profile increased, and in turn her television involvement did too, to include her own special on Live from the BBC and a writing credit on BBC 3’s Radges.
Despite studying Arabic and Islamic History at university, Fern had the underlying desire to embark on a career in comedy. After graduating and beginning a career in journalism, Fern started an internship with Fest Magazine, a free publication following the events of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Inspired by the acts showcasing their talents, Fern initially wrote an article on a comedy critic trying their hand at stand up, however, the assignment became a pivotal moment for her. The catalyst to pursue her stand up career, Fern first began comedy in 2010.
Talented in every aspect of comedy, Fern is a gifted performer and has made a statement with her endless radio credits, including much involvement with Radio 4 on: News Quiz, The Now Show and State of the Nations. Fern has also made her debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, an honour for any artist, made particularly memorable for Fern when she reached the finals of the So You Think You’re Funny competition in her 2011 appearance. At events, Fern, who was named in Vogue’s Top 5 Female Comedians, brings the same versatility, likeability and of course, award winning humour as has been seen throughout her career.
