Eshaan is a highly sought-after comedian who has had numerous appearances on some of the UK’s biggest TV shows. He made comedic history becoming the first person of Bangladeshi heritage to appear on Live at the Apollo, BBC’s Mock the Week and BBC’s QI. As well as becoming a frequent feature on TV, Eshaan is also the voice behind the popular radio show ‘But Where Are You Really From’ and has subsequently become well-known and extremely respected within the comedy circuit.
Spending his early career away from the entertainment industry, after graduating from Queen Mary University of London with a degree in Economics, Finance and Management, Eshaan worked in wealth management until the financial crash of 2008. After this, Eshaan went back to education and gained his master’s in Global Governance and has worked at HSBC, the London Borough of Merton Council, the British Heart Foundation and Anthony Nolan. It was only in 2014 when Eshaan first began performing stand-up comedy at open mic nights but made the finals of the prestigious ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ competition that very same year. Clearly, becoming a stand-up comedian was Eshaan’s calling and in 2016 he supported Micky Flanagan on his warm-up tour.
Popular with some of the biggest names in comedy, Eshaan has also supported the likes of Dane Baptiste, Hal Cruttenden, Rory Bremner, Jan Ravens, Sindhu Vee and Jason Manford. As an accomplished radio presenter, alongside ‘But Where Are You Really From’, Eshaan is also the host of the award-winning podcast ‘Nine Twenty Nine’, co-host of ‘Shame is Delicious’, and has his own shows on the BBC Asian Network and LoveSport.
