Ellen Gunning

Ellen Gunning is a globally recognised futurist, AI strategist and communications expert who has built an international reputation as a keynote speaker on the future impact of artificial intelligence. Known professionally as the ‘Data Prophet’, Ellen delivers compelling presentations exploring how AI will reshape industries including education, communications, politics, healthcare and business. Alongside her broadcasting work, Ellen completed an MA in Communications & Cultural Studies at Dublin City University before further expanding her technical knowledge through advanced AI studies at MIT.

She is the Chief Executive Officer of Mettacomms, a cloud-based data analytics and AI company focused on future trends and strategic planning. Ellen also serves as Vice President of the European Association for Distance Learning, with plans to become President in 2027, and previously held the position of National President of the International Public Relations Association. As an accomplished author, Ellen has written several books including the internationally published PR textbook, ‘Public Relations: A Practical Approach’, which is used by students globally and has been released in three editions. Her expertise and influence have earned her numerous honours including Entrepreneur of the Year, Diversity in Tech, awarded by JP Morgan, the European Parliament Broadcast Journalist of the Year Award, the Dublin Chamber CSR Award and a Lifetime Contribution to the PR Industry Award.
