Best known for the fifteen years he spent on Discovery Channel’s Wheeler Dealers, Edd China was the longstanding mechanic and presenter on the show. Producing a total of thirteen series, Edd shared his enthusiasm and passion for vehicles of all kinds, with equally keen viewers. The show saw Edd repair, replace and reinvent a host of different vehicles to a set budget, a skill he mastered over the course of his time on the show. The programme was so popular it led to Edd publishing a book titled Wheeler Dealers Car Restoration Manual for budding restorers.
Showing an early love for all things automobile, Edd studied a degree in engineering product design at London South Bank University. Edd’s breakthrough into the industry came whilst he was completing a project for his degree, a driving sofa called the ‘Casual Lofa’. The machine was originally built to raise money for charity, but got Edd noticed as a talented inventor, and subsequently the opportunity to showcase his invention on Top Gear Live and Live at the Silverstone Arena.
As a motor vehicle expert, Edd China expanded into the world of business in order to create profitability from his creativity. Edd’s earliest venture was in 1999 with the development of Cummfy Banana, a company that brought to life the creations from Edd’s imagination. In 2009, Edd became the managing director of Grease Junkie, a site that sold Wheeler Dealers merchandise and a servicing garage operating under the same name.
With boundless creativity, Edd has set his mind to completing a range of out of the box Guinness World Records. Throughout his career, he has achieved the title of the World’s Fastest Shed, Toilet and Bed as well as constructing the Largest Ever Motorised Shopping Trolley. Edd China is a fantastically fun host, with years of business, engineering and inventing knowledge which he draws on to create a successful event.
