Dr. Helen Wall

Dr. Helen Wall is often seen as a Resident GP on BBC Breakfast. Having made over 80 appearances since 2022, Helen is a favourite on the show. She is passionate about using her communications skills to help people elevate their lives and live well. Helen is also a Columnist for the Woman Magazine, contributing to the ‘In the Clinic with Dr. Helen Wall’ column. Helen obtained an MBBS degree from Newcastle University and joined as a GP Partner at The Oaks Family Practice – now serving as a Senior GP Partner & GP Trainer at The Oaks Family Practice. Born and raised in Bolton, Helen is heavily involved in the community and offers her expertise in training other GPs in Bolton. She has also been a Board Member and Clinical Director for NHS Bolton CCG – playing a key role in developing the women’s and children’s services and care pathways. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Helen was responsible for spearheading Bolton’s COVID response, putting her in the spotlight of several major media houses and publications.

Appreciated for her authenticity and transparency as a health and wellness related social media personality as well as renowned television figure, Helen has been able to develop a sense of trust between her and her audience. This is crucial to her success in the field. As the Chair of Quality & Standards Committee & Trust at Bolton Hospice, Helen offers free expert care and support to locals facing severe illnesses. Her columns in Woman Magazine address subjects related to depression, health and wellbeing, anxiety, and information related GP services. Helen has also recently completed a specialist menopause training with the British Menopause Society.

A Visiting Professor at Bolton University, Helen has also received an Honorary Doctorate for her services to public health from Bolton University. In 2022, she received the Woman of the Year Award at the She Inspires Awards and was subsequently inducted into the She Inspires Awards Hall of Fame.
