Dr. Emeka Okorocha

Dr Emeka Ocorocha is a Medical Doctor at the NHS who rose to national acclaim during the Covid-19 lockdown for his educational TikTok videos, which regularly went viral, ranking him as a UK top ten TikTok educator. With over 250,000 TikTok followers, the influential doctor enjoys a substantial following and has fronted the nationwide campaign It Starts on TikTok, which appeared on billboards across the Country. When booked for speaking engagements, Emeka shares his expert knowledge of physical and mental health and dispels common myths widespread on social media.

Hailing from a family of doctors, Emeka followed in the footsteps of his parents and grandparents to study Medicine at the University of East Anglia. During his time at university, he modelled for Hollister Co and was selected for the role of Sports Coordinator due to his impact on university sports and his ability to promote healthy living. After graduating, he appeared on the fourth series of BBC’s Junior Doctors, documenting his skills and progression as a junior doctor. His appearance on the show led to further opportunities to work for the BBC, such as promoting healthcare tips on BBC3.

In 2018, he joined Bespoke medispa, a private medical service, as Medical Doctor, a role he holds alongside his work with the NHS. Throughout his medical career, Emeka has undergone multiple rotations, allowing him to gain experience in general medicine, renal medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics, elderly medicine, stroke medicine and trauma. Very passionate about sharing healthy lifestyle hacks and advice with people, Emeka is the author of Your Health in Your Hands. The grandson of a King, Emeka is very proud of his ancestry, as the third in line to the throne of his province of Nigeria.

Seeking to tackle racism, Emeka’s video urging people to love him in hoodies and scrubs garnered worldwide attention and has made him a prominent voice in the Black Lives Matter movement. The charismatic doctor has closely worked with the NHS and Government on health campaigns and regularly works with leading fashion and fitness brands as an influencer. The recipient of the Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts Young Achiever’s Award, he earned the Young Medical Doctor of the Year by Creative Faith Academy Awards in 2021.
