A popular British actress, solo artist and media personality, who came to national prominence as a 10 year old on Byker Grove, Donna Air has since appeared on an array of TV programmes and toured worldwide with pop duo, Crush. After her early acting career, she would join up with Byker Grove co-star, Jayni Hoy to form Crush. The pop act released album, Teenage Kicks in 1996 which went to number one in Japan. They would have hit singles with Jellyhead, Luv'd Up and toured the US, Japan and South East Asia.
Donna returned to television soon after, becoming the host of MTV Select. The show brought her to mainstream attention, as she would display her charm and outgoing personality in her position as host.
From there she would present The Big Breakfast on Channel 4, as well as Popstar: The Rivals Extra on ITV and TFI Friday. She would later go onto present, Live from Studio Five on Five. In addition to her extensive portfolio of work in the world of presenting, Donna has appeared regularly as an actress on TV comedies, soaps and dramas such as Hotel Babylon, Operation Good Guys and Hollyoaks. She has also featured in films including The Mummy Returns and Bad Day.
Together with her time in broadcast, Donna created children's clothing collection, Markus and Donna alongside catwalk extraordinaire, Markus Lupfer. The range was exhibited in Debenhams' stores around the country. Her experience in the world of fashion also landed her the role of Style Editor at Hello Magazine. In 2017, she appeared on the Dancing on Ice stage, finishing a highly-respectable sixth place on the show, as she danced with Mark Hanretty.
