Delicious Orie

Delicious Orie is a British keynote speaker, former elite boxer and finance professional whose story blends high performance, purpose and disciplined reinvention. A Paris 2024 Team GB Olympian and Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, he rose to international prominence in the super-heavyweight division after overcoming immigration barriers, cultural displacement and late entry into the sport. Today, Delicious is recognised not only for his sporting success but for his rare ability to translate elite athletic principles into business, leadership and personal development settings.

Born in Moscow to a Nigerian father and Russian mother, Delicious moved to the UK at the age of seven in search of safety and opportunity. Settling in Wolverhampton, he faced racism, language barriers and long periods of uncertainty around citizenship, experiences that shaped his mindset early on. His first sporting focus was basketball, where he competed at regional level with ambitions of securing a US scholarship. Those ambitions were cut short due to passport restrictions, forcing a decisive change in direction. At 18, he discovered boxing and committed fully, while also prioritising education. Alongside intensive training, he studied at Aston University, graduating with a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Economics and Management. During his degree, he completed an industry placement at St Philips Chambers, gaining valuable insight into professional standards, financial systems and long-term planning.

Delicious’ rise in boxing was rapid and disciplined. In 2019, he won the English National Amateur Championship, a pivotal moment that led to his selection for the Team GB Boxing World Class Programme, training full-time at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. Competing internationally for England and Great Britain, he secured Gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, followed by Gold at the 2023 European Games, qualifying him for the Olympic Games in Paris. Representing Great Britain on the world stage as a Paris 2024 Olympian, he completed a defining chapter of his athletic career. In 2025, he signed a professional contract with Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions, winning his professional debut before making the bold decision to step away from boxing, guided by purpose rather than expectation.

Now working within financial services as a Trainee Financial Adviser, while progressing through the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, Delicious brings a unique dual perspective to the stage. His keynote talks explore elite performance, resilience, decision-making, identity, leadership under pressure and navigating major life transitions. He speaks with clarity and credibility to corporate, financial services, leadership and youth audiences, offering practical lessons grounded in lived experience.
