Charlie Hart is a beloved neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ speaker who has spent her on-stage career empowering those who may consider themselves to be ‘different’. Proficient in blending personal experiences with professional keynote capabilities, she encourages audiences to accept both themselves and those around them. As a multiple-neurodivergent individual herself, Charlie has spent the majority of her life living in the shoes of those she strives to uplift, allowing her to bring an unparalleled level of authenticity to each and every word. Whether she’s using her prior experience in HR to help audiences identify where they could rework their workplace cultures, or simply lending a voice to those often overlooked, Charlie manages to foster inspiration and self-acceptance in her own unique way.
This transition from HR to keynote speaking initially began in 2019, during Autism Acceptance Month. Charlie realised how crucial it was to cultivate a more compassionate and welcoming world in which any person – regardless of race, ability, gender, or sexuality – could feel accepted and heard, and was determined to make a difference. So, after officially leaving her role as a HR Analyst for Together for Mental Wellbeing, she threw herself headfirst into the art of keynote speaking. Partnered with her increased online presence as Ausome Charlie, she began changing lives one talk at a time. Before long, Charlie Hart was a name known across the diversity and inclusion speaking scene, with many cherishing her bravery and ability to delve into often unexplored topics.
Charlie prides herself on this specific layer of her keynote career; she unpacks the dark side of being neurodivergent, and the struggles of the LGBTQIA+ community. All the while, she balances the tough truths out with optimistic outlooks to empower and uplift audiences. Charlie truly is a master of commanding the stage, using her humour and wit to create new perspectives on how the world can provide additional needs and support to those that need it. Having spoken at events such as the IGPP Neurodiversity at Work Conference, Charlie isn’t afraid of pulling back the curtain – of showing business owners and workers alike that diversity and inclusion isn’t just possible, but is a necessary part of success.
If you’re wanting to hear exactly what it’s like to live as a neurodivergent member of the LGBTQIA+ community from someone who has plenty of experience in doing so, look no further than Charlie Hart. As a mother of neurodivergent teenagers and someone who didn’t receive her autism diagnosis until she was 42 years into her life, Charlie brings an incredibly authentic presence to any stage.
