Charles Perry

Charles Perry is a revered sustainable business and climate leader, who boasts an impressive 25+ years of commercial experience during which he has embedded sustainability into the heart of some of the most prominent organisations. Promoting the importance of sustainability in generating financial, social and environmental value, Charles is best known as Co-Founder of SecondNature, one of the early pioneering sustainability consulting firms, which was acquired by Anthesis Group. With a long and notable history in the fight for a more sustainable future, Charles is now the Founder of Sustainable Future For All and a highly sought after keynote speaker on the sustainability revolution – and how to make sustainability second nature.

Charles has forged a successful career accelerating the move toward a more sustainable future, with recent roles including being a Partner of RISE. Corporate Purpose Advisory. Having also been a COP26 Climate Champion and an Advisory Board Member for 10:10 Climate Action, Charles’ preeminent career in sustainability began as a Senior Sustainability Consultant for URS Corporation. Working for clients such as Shell, Charles later joined BP as Strategic Marketing Manager. During his time with BP, Charles became the Founder and Director of BP Green Energy, pioneering BP’s efforts in creating ‘green’ renewable energy. In 2006, Charles became the Director of GreenOrder, a consulting group focused on environmental sustainability, and in 2007 he became the Managing Director of Good Energy, the only 100% renewable electricity company in the UK.

In 2009, Charles became the Co-Founder of SecondNature, a company dedicated to providing sustainability consultancy which worked with clients such as Tesco, Shell, Barclays, Network Rail and Thames Water. Other prominent roles of Charles have also included being the Director of Business Development and Sustainability for GRIDSERVE Sustainable Energy, Director of the Anthesis Group, Vice President of the Al Gore Climate Reality, Advisory Board Member of the Sustainability Hub, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership Alum and Chairman of OEEESs. Charles has also recently acted as an Ambassador of Meaningful Business 100, an annual celebration of the 100 most socially impactful leaders globally, who are helping to achieve the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
