
Carolyn Shepherd is named as one of HR Magazine’s 2025 ‘Most Influential Thinkers’ and is a leading advocate for the human-led AI business evolution. She is the founder and Director of Emmeline AI, which aids HR and Learning and Development (L&D) teams in successfully securing and managing AI projects. Carolyn is the author of ‘The ChatGPT Advantage’, which looks at the intersectionality of humans and AI and how it can revolutionise the workforce. She is also a LinkedIn Learning AI Tutor, hosting ‘The Five-Minute AI Podcast’ through the AI Learning Lobby, teaching non-professionals AI skills. In recent years, she devoted her teaching to specialising in high-quality education on ChatGPT and other GenAI chatbots.
Achieving a Law Degree at Queen Mary University of London and Hull University, followed by the completion of her Bar Vocational Course at Nottingham Law School, Carolyn moved through various legal and senior HR positions. She was ER Shared Services Director at Lloyds Employment Law Consultancy Ltd, the former Director of Eledecks, and the Head of HR for Sylvester Keal. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a Goldman Sachs 10KSB Graduate from Saїd Business School at Oxford University.
She has since worked to blend her professional history with her passion for the technology industry, AI, and its future. As an AI Steering Group Member for The Institute of Employability Professionals, she looks to share how AI can benefit both professionals and their clients. Carolyn is also a co-founder and leader of the Work Intelligence Partnership, a newly founded organisation helping businesses shape people-led AI incorporation. She is currently the Senior HR GenAI Consultant for Eledecks.
With invaluable insight and intelligent yet supportive direction, Carolyn demystifies AI and illustrates how it can be a source for problem-solving, inspiration, and adaptability in our daily lives. Carolyn recently spoke at EmployabilityUK’s AI Day for National Employability Week, where she discussed AI readiness, equipping the audience with actionable knowledge and confidence to inspire technological change. She was also a guest speaker at the DeeperThanBlue 'Exploring The Potential of Agentic AI' event. Carolyn is an excellent keynote speaker, encouraging audiences to think not only about what AI is capable of but also how it can aid their everyday lives.
