
Bradley Scanes is a Formula 1 and Team GB High-Performance coach who has worked with some of Britain's most elite athletes as well as being performance coach to Max Verstappen.
Bradley holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport & Exercise Science from Loughborough University as well as a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy. His early career began in the UK’s National Health Service and in positions with football clubs. Bradley served as Head of Medical at Southend FC and later went on to work with Team GB’s Olympic basketball team and gymnastics teams. Bradley collaborated with gymnast Max Whitlock during his Olympic gold medal campaigns. Bradley’s career in F1 began in 2019, working with Max Verstappen and marking his entry into F1. Under his guidance, Max Verstappen secured his first World Championship in 2021. Bradley’s approach involved integrating strength and endurance training along with psychological resilience. F1 is a constantly changing sport, meaning that Bradley has to adapt to the unique challenges of each race weekend. Throughout his career, Bradley has built himself a reputation for keeping drivers race-ready year-round.
Since Bradley has transitioned from F1 to now focus on broader performance coaching roles across various sport disciplines. In addition to his responsibilities at Red Bull, Bradley is also the founder and director of Elite Formula Physio and Training, where he offers training programs and virtual physio consultations. He also co-hosts the “Elite Formula PT Podcast where he shares insights into high-performance and injury prevention.
