Bobby George

Bobby George is a British darts player, TV personality and sports pundit but may be better known to some as “the King of Darts”, following his theatrical entrances into games wearing a cloak and crown and carrying a candelabra. An ideal darts speaker for events and exhibition evenings, Bobby is one of the most recognisable faces in darts and is sure to entertain and engage guests throughout proceedings.

Despite coming to the sport later in life George has participated in numerous darts tournaments including the World Masters and has won several prestigious competitions including the News of the World Championships in both 1979 and 1986. Bobby experienced peak performance along with the drive and determination needed to succeed, allowing him to talk as a sports speaker about what is needed to be the best in your field.

Shortly after his second News of the World Championship win George retired from professional darts, however, due to his popularity he quickly found himself drawn back toward the sport by the call of his fans. Becoming one of the first full-time darts exhibition players George coupled his colourful personality with his darts abilities to make him a popular exhibitionist. It is these traits that also help to make George a successful and popular after-dinner speaker; his stories are entertaining and his confidence and flamboyant character make for incredibly memorable appearances.

More recently Bobby George has become known for his television appearances; his work with the BBC as a pundit and presenter for the coverage of popular darts tournaments, including the BDO World Championship, have brought him into the public eye. Appearances on reality series such as Celebrity Fit Club and in charity performances such as Let’s Dance for Sports Relief have also helped to increase his fan base.
