After a strong academic foundation earning a degree in History from The University of Edinburgh, Ben began his career in the food industry as a driver for Deliveroo. Passionate about food from a young age, Ben learnt to cook from his father, who ran an Italian restaurant for a number of years. Ben launched Mob kitchen in 2016, after discovering that his friends at university didn’t share his passion for cooking. Determined to get them to eat something other than pesto pasta five times a week, Ben started writing recipes for delicious meals for under £10. He filmed some of the recipes to share online and Mob was born.
Ben’s relentless drive led to Mob’s success. As a delivery driver he’d hide fliers for Mob in the pizza boxes, he stood outside Tesco in Oxford handing out leaflets and encouraged as many of his friends as he could to cook a Mob meal for their families. Mob has gone from strength to strength and is now a digital community of eleven million people, with over seven million annual unique website users. Mob has also published eight cookbooks, specialising in everything from comfort food and veggie dishes, to sustainable, eco-friendly cooking and recipes using only six ingredients.
