Ben Cox is best known for his term as wicketkeeper for the Worcestershire County Cricket Club. Having forged his association with the club as a U-13 player, in 2009 Ben made his first-class debut for Worcestershire at the age of 17. In 2024, Ben has signed with Leicestershire as their wicketkeeper. He has a wealth of experience in the sport and is able to translate the lessons he has learned in his work as a speaker.
Having joined Worcestershire as a schoolboy, Ben gained incredible experience in his time with the team. He was lauded for scoring a half-century in his maiden first-class innings – setting an apt precedent for what could be expected of him in the years to come. In addition to making over 5000 runs, Ben was also credited with over 400 catches and 16 stumpings as a wicketkeeper.
Ben played an integral role in Worcestershire’s first win at the Vitality T20 Blast in 2018 – named Player of the Match in both the semi-finals and finals of the tournament. In 2021, he was appointed captain of Worcestershire at the Vitality T20 Blast.
Ben has also played for the Otago Cricket Team in the 2018 Super Smash T20 tournament in New Zealand, gaining overseas experience as well. Concluding his association with Worcestershire by playing in the 2023 T20 Blast and One-Day Cup, Ben will play for Leicestershire in the upcoming season.
