Aliya Bagewadi is a climate tech leader dedicated to building a cleaner and more inclusive energy future. As the former US Director of Strategic Partnerships at Allume Energy, she led the company’s expansion to bring rooftop solar to apartment renters across America. Her standout achievement is guiding Allume’s involvement in more than $450 million in federal grant funding, ensuring the clean energy transition benefits everyone. Aliya brings depth, clarity and collaboration to every stage of the innovation process, making her one of the most compelling voices in the climate technology space.
Aliya’s early career reflects a deep commitment to both people and systems. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago, she began working across Southeast Asia on projects focused on social entrepreneurship and financial inclusion. As a Fellow and Business Communications Lecturer with Princeton in Asia, she taught at a university in Thailand before joining Proximity Designs in Myanmar as a Microcredit Analyst, where she helped expand access to solar and irrigation technology for thousands of farmers. Later, she received the prestigious Gates Cambridge Scholarship, completing a Master’s in Land Economy at the University of Cambridge, where her research explored the political and economic forces shaping sustainable innovation.
Throughout her career, Aliya has built an impressive record of impact across sectors. Before joining Allume Energy, she founded Avni Partners, a boutique advisory firm supporting clean technology companies through market research and growth strategy. Earlier, as a Senior Strategy Consultant at ReD Associates, she worked with Fortune 500 companies and global foundations to design sustainable products and business models. Her leadership in climate innovation was recognised through fellowships with the Clean Energy Leadership Institute and On Deck Climate Tech, and she continues to contribute her expertise as a Partner at BVRE Consulting & Advisory. Across these roles, Aliya has shown a rare ability to bridge policy, business and technology in service of global climate goals.
