Alexandra Wilson is a leading legal professional, who specialises in representing young and vulnerable clients. Best known for her legal practice in family law, Alexandra is currently a Barrister in Criminal and Family Law at 5SAH Chambers. In her proficiency as a barrister, Alexandra has represented various cases from domestic abuse to financial issues. She is also experienced in legalities surrounding the misuse of data and technology, having written detailed articles surrounding the theme of Encrochat. She is also a Grade 2 prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service and an Equality, Diversity and Social Mobility Sub-Committee member of the Middle Temple Hall Committee.
Before forging a successful name as a barrister, Alexandra studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Oxford. Deciding to follow a career in law, Alexandra then went on to study for a Graduate Diploma and a Master of Laws at the BPP University in London. In reward of her commitment to her studies, Alexandra was the recipient of the first Queen’s Scholarship by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. Since becoming qualified, Alexandra has worked on various cases in the Magistrates, Crown and Youth Courts and founded the Black Women in Law organisation.
Throughout her time as a barrister, Alexandra has also been passionate about obtaining justice for people of ethnic minorities. Once mistaken for a defendant three times in one day when at court, Alexandra is passionate to change the perception of black people. She has authored the book In Black and White, a book that discusses uncomfortable truths that the legal profession needs to confront about race and class. She has also co-founded One Case At A Time, a firm that specialises in representing disenfranchised minorities in a number of legal cases.
