Dr Alex George is a former A&E doctor, broadcaster and mental health campaigner who has become one of the UK’s most influential voices in health and wellbeing. Best known for serving as the UK Government’s Youth Mental Health Ambassador, Alex has built a career that bridges medicine, media and public advocacy. His ability to combine professional expertise with warmth and honesty has made him a trusted figure across television, publishing and live events. Whether speaking about mental fitness, resilience or the realities of working within the NHS, Alex connects with audiences in a way that feels genuine and accessible. Through his campaigns, bestselling books and media appearances, he has helped to normalise conversations around mental health and encourage people to seek support earlier.
Alex studied medicine at Exeter University before beginning his career as an A&E doctor within the NHS. Working on the frontline of the British healthcare system gave him valuable insight into the pressures facing both patients and healthcare professionals, experiences that continue to shape his work today. While many first recognised him through television, Alex quickly established himself as far more than a media personality, using his growing platform to educate and advocate for positive change. During the Coronavirus pandemic, he became a reassuring public voice, sharing practical healthcare advice and highlighting the dedication of NHS staff. Alex has also been open about his own experiences with mental health and therapy, helping to break down stigma and encourage more honest conversations around emotional wellbeing, particularly amongst younger generations.
Over the course of his career, Alex has taken on several influential roles across broadcasting and public health. Alongside being the Health Editor for ‘Good Morning Britain’ and a resident presenter on ‘Lorraine’, he has fronted impactful documentaries including ‘Dr Alex: Our Young Mental Health Crisis’ for BBC One. In 2021, Alex released his debut book, ‘Live Well Every Day’, which became a Sunday Times Number One Bestseller. He has since authored several more bestselling books, including ‘The Mind Manual’ and ‘A Better Day’, the latter winning Children’s Non-Fiction Book of the Year at the British Book Awards. Alex is also the host of the successful podcast ‘Stompcast’, where he explores wellbeing, mindfulness and mental resilience through honest conversations and inspiring guests. In 2023, Alex joined Anna Richardson and Yinka Bokinni to present Naked Education, a new programme dedicated to body positivity and educating viewers on what a 'normal' body looks like. In recognition of his contribution to mental health advocacy, Alex received an Honorary Doctorate of Law from The University of Law in 2023.
Alongside his broadcasting and publishing success, Alex remains deeply committed to improving youth mental health support across the UK. He has worked closely with organisations including YoungMinds, Mind and the Anna Freud Centre to campaign for better access to early intervention and support services. Alex has also helped champion Mental Health Support Teams in schools and the rollout of Early Support Hubs nationwide. As a speaker, he brings together medical expertise, real life experience and an engaging communication style that resonates with corporate audiences, schools, healthcare organisations and public sector events alike. Covering topics such as mental health, resilience, workplace wellbeing, healthcare, social media pressures and body positivity, Alex delivers conversations that are insightful, practical and highly relevant to modern audiences. His honesty, energy and ability to make important subjects approachable ensure he leaves a lasting impact long after the event has finished.

"We were eager to work with Dr Alex after developing our Emotional Pillar within Consumer Experience for L’Oreal Professional Products Division. Alex is a great figure, doing some amazing things to raise awareness and amplify the topic of Mental Health and he did not disappoint. He inspired the delegates and got people thinking about the important topic. He was on time for every meeting and even when we made a last-minute date and time change he accepted and adapted without any complaints. Alex was inspiring, professional and relatable throughout and we will definitely be looking to work with him again. Keep up the fabulous work Alex!" - Gayatri, L'Oreal
Feedback from Virtual Events:
"We are currently editing the Dr Alex recording, the first small section is being released to the learners this week and the staff involved in the recording were really pleased with the discussions they had with him." - Ed, Project Manager, Weston AC
“It was a brilliant having Dr Alex George join us for our webinar, he is an incredibly engaging and knowledgeable speaker. His personal experience and informal style of delivery makes him so relatable, which was reflected in the number of people in attendance and the volume of questions we received. He provided brilliant education and insight and gave practical tips for helping manage holistic mental health that colleagues could take away and work on themselves and share the advice with loved ones. The engagement from the event has been really positive and has started more wellbeing conversations across our business, thank you so much Alex” - Centrica
