J. Alexander ‘Alex’ Geesbreght, J.D. is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor who brings a rare combination of business strategy, legal insight and leadership experience to every stage. As Founder and Partner of PRAX Leadership, Geesbreght Capital and Geesbreght Group, Alex has spent his career helping people and organisations unlock their potential. His biggest achievement came as Founder and CEO of PhysAssist Scribes, the first medical scribe company in the United States, which transformed the way physicians and hospitals manage patient documentation and care. Today, Alex shares the lessons learned from leading teams through growth, challenge and change, inspiring audiences to lead with clarity and purpose.
Alex began his professional journey as a trial lawyer after earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law. Before that, he studied Radio and Television at Texas Christian University, where his interest in communication and storytelling first took shape. Those early years in law gave him a deep understanding of people, persuasion and performance under pressure. Yet it was his move from law to healthcare business that defined his path. Recognising inefficiencies in medical documentation, Alex built PhysAssist Scribes from the ground up, turning an innovative idea into an industry standard that reshaped emergency medicine operations nationwide.
Across his career, Alex has served in a range of senior executive roles. At Emergency Medicine Consultants, he worked for over sixteen years as General Counsel, President and Chief Strategy Officer, leading the organisation through major transitions until its successful sale in 2018. His achievements have been recognised widely, including being named a finalist for EY Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014. Beyond his companies, Alex is a committed member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO-Gold), where he has served as a Board Member and Learning Chair for the Fort Worth Chapter. He also manages Smooge Racing, blending his passion for business with competition and teamwork.
Audiences connect with Alex because his stories are grounded in experience rather than theory. He speaks on leadership, mindset, organisational culture and personal fulfilment, encouraging others to ‘do what you love with those you love’. His sessions challenge leaders to look inward first, building self-awareness as the foundation for external success. Companies and teams looking to strengthen culture, improve collaboration and embrace purpose find Alex’s talks both practical and deeply human.
