The millennium saw Alastair return to his international news roots working for the ITV News Channel. His weekly show, Live with Alastair Stewart, covered the 2003 Iraq War. As a journalistic heavyweight Alastair was also chosen as the anchor on Election Night Live: America Decides. This special provided coverage provided insight into the 2008 US Presidential Election. Thanks to these successes Alastair became a staple of British culture presenting both the ITV Lunchtime News and ITV Evening News. Alastair also became the first ever journalist to moderate the UK political leaders debate in 2010. More recently Alastair has become the presenter for ITV Weekend News and continues to expand his CV appearing on stage and screen alike.
