Afua Hagan is a news anchor and commentator, having appeared across the screens of Channel 5, CNN, the BBC and Sky. Described to be charismatic and opinionated, Afua has been in high demand in broadcasting and journalism for over a decade. Outside of television appearances, Afua is also a popular choice for a range of keynote speeches, moderating and event hosting, with her years behind the camera setting her up for success as event entertainment. Before embarking on her successful career in journalism and broadcasting, Afua studied journalism at the City University London. Upon graduation, Afua began work as a Fashion Co-Ordinator for AIA. Working her way into the journalism industry, Afua has her first taste of media as an Editor of Blackhair Magazine. This role allowed her to build her expertise in writing and journalism, later becoming a Freelance Features Editor for Pride Magazine and Freelancer for The Daily Mail International. She was also an Editor at Strangers and Candy, before joining the world of television presenting.
Afua has also been the Editor in Chief of Glam Africa Magazine and a presenter for ABN TV and The Beat London. With ABN TV, Afua is widely remembered for both producing and presenting Young & Rising and for the launch of Entertainment Weekly. Afua has also been fortunate to be a part of 60 Minute Makeovers on ITV, for PopWorld, T4 and the host of Sustainable Energy. She also worked for Blue Mountain Music under the watchful eye of Chris Blackwell. In reward of her commitment to the industry, Afua has been recognised for her Broadcasting by the Black Women in Business Awards.
