Daniel Susskind is a leading economist and bestselling author with a passion for exploring how artificial intelligence will impact the future of work and the economy. Researching how technology affects employment, professions, economic growth and society, he combines academic research with an abundance of experience in government policy. Daniel is a current member of the UK Government's Expert Panel on AI and the Future of Work, which places him at the centre of conversations about developing technologies, allowing him to provide organisations with first-hand knowledge and actionable insights on navigating an AI-driven economy.
After studying Economics and Management at the prestigious Oxford University, Daniel joined the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit as a Policy Advisor in 2009 before progressing to become a Policy Analyst in the Policy Unit at 10 Downing Street in 2010. After serving at Harvard University as a Kennedy Scholar, Daniel continued to widen his expertise by returning to Oxford University for postgraduate studies in economics. Simultaneously, he worked as a part-time Senior Policy Advisor at the Cabinet Office until 2014, when he joined Balliol College at Oxford as a Lecturer in Economics. This led him to become a Fellow in Economics at both Balliol College and the University of Oxford.
