Mark Philippoussis


Grand slam tennis finalist Mark Philippoussis is an Australian sports speaker and tennis champion known for his large size and powerful serve; standing 6”5 Philippoussis recorded a personal best of 229kph during a game in 1997.

Taking an interest in tennis at a young age Mark Philippoussis played his first tennis match aged just six years old and was playing professionally by age 19; within the first four years of his professional career Philippoussis took part in no less than three Open Tournaments and, by 1999, had made it into the top 10 players in the world. Capitalising on his professional success Mark Philippoussis began working as a tennis speaker, appearing on television and at specialist after dinner speaker events both in Australia, America, and Europe.

Now a dedicated sports speaker Mark Philippoussis retired in 2008, moving from Miami following a knee injury that prevented him from playing; alongside his work as a tennis speaker, Mark has also taken part in a number of team based tennis tournaments including playing for The Philadelphia Freedoms in 2002 and 2012.

Outside of his work as a tennis speaker, Philippoussis has also raised his public profile following his appearance on the reality TV series Age of Love, and continues to maintain a high-profile appearing in newspapers and on television broadcasts as well as at notable after dinner speaker events in the tennis calendar.
