Competitive cyclist and Olympic speaker Bob Jungles was born in Luxembourg City in 1992. Although his career is still in its infancy Jungles has already won a number of high-profile races and now has his sights set on an Olympic medal. Embarking on his professional career in his teens’, Jungles quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with, winning the World Junior Time Trial Championships aged just 17. Jungles won this title again the following year and the following year gained two gold medals at the Games of the Small States of Europe.
Still, under-23 Bob then went on to win the National U-23 Time Trial Championships two years in a row. Jungles’ racing takes him across Europe and, whilst touring, he often also works as a sports speaker and appears on national television broadcasts.
Jungles’ is well known as a sportsman and Olympic speaker in both Western Europe and the UK and is especially popular with young audiences with whom he connects with well and can be easily related to. Though he is a prolific Olympic speaker Bob Jungles continues to take part in competitive racing. Jungles has begun training for a place in the future Olympic team and, in his capacity as a sports speaker, highlights the importance of personal motivation to ensure endurance and success in competitive racing.
