Leading sports speaker Adam Yates, along with his twin brother Simon, is a champion British cyclist. Both a track and road cyclist, Adam and his brother are fast becoming the Olympic speakers and athletes to watch; currently competing for the Orica-Green EDGE, team Adam has already gained recognition for a ranking within the top fifteen of his first professional competition, the Tour de San Luis. He demonstrated the strength of his racing abilities in this contest further by ranking first above all other young riders in the competition. A much sought-after Olympic speaker, Adam is particularly popular with youth audiences, his own achievement proving to other cyclists and athletes that with dedication and determination anyone can secure sporting success.
His work as a sports speaker for young people has brought him before various youth groups and youth sports organisations and made him popular amongst audiences his own age. Adam and his brother have also been called upon to appear as Olympic speakers on British television, discussing both their success and the unusual nature of their competitive relationship in on-screen and radio interviews. Beyond his work as a cycling and Olympic speaker, Adam Yates harbors hopes of competing for Britain in future Olympic and Commonwealth games and continues to train and develop his riding and racing abilities.
In 2015 Adam was named as part of the start list for the 2015 Tour de France. He competed in the competition and ended seventh on Stage 8 and seventh on Stage 10. Also in 2015, Adam celebrated an immense victory, winning the Clássica de San Sebastián. This victory came after a fellow rider, Greg Van Avermat, was involved in a collision with a race motorcycle. Later in 2016 Adam again took part in the Tour De France, finishing in 4th place. In 2017 and 2018 Adam competed in a number of other cycling events. Those included coming second in the general classification at the Critérium du Dauphiné and the Mitchelton-Scott’s leader at the Tour De France. Finally, in 2019 Adam was selected to ride in the Volta a Catalunya, where he finished second in the general classification.
