Wes Morgan

Captain Of Leicester City FC

The man who led Leicester City to their fairy tale Premier League win, Wes Morgan has been at the fore of some of the biggest moments in Leicester City’s history during his time as captain.

Wes’ career began when he joined Notts County aged 15, before moving to Nottingham Forest and making his debut in 2003, when he was 19. When Wes moved to Leicester in January 2012, he was quick to make an impact, and was named Club’s Player of the Year for the 2012/13 season, shortly after being named in the PFA Championship Team of the Season. Since then, he has only continued to thrive at Leicester City and was swiftly given the captain’s armband.

During the 2013/14 season, Wes featured in all but one of Leicester’s League games. It was this year that he also debuted for his national team Jamaica, and his goal against Sevilla in the Champions League made him the first Jamaican to score in the competition.

In April 2015, he was named in the Football League Team of the Decade; an accolade he lived up to as he then led Leicester through a fantastic season in 2015/16. The title-winning campaign was a historic season for Leicester City FC, and Wes was the first player in the city’s history to lift the Premier League trophy.

With a very successful career that spans more than ten years, Wes is showing no signs of slowing down, as he continues to go from strength to strength.
