Yu started his exploration of technology in 1999 when he was one of six people to found and develop Paypal. He worked with the company for over 5 years, until 2004, when he moved to work for Adzaar, an internet service provider, as their Cheif Technology Officer. From 2004 to 2005, he oversaw all of the technological advancements and developed policies within the company, making pinnacle decisions for Adzaar's future.
Whilst spending four years on Youtube, Yu established, designed, maintained, implemented and evaluated the system we know and love today. From there, he co-founded KiwiCo Inc, developing the company as the Chief Technology Officer until 2013, before moving to Affirm to be a Senior Software Engineer. Most recently, Yu has been the Research Engineer at Origin Protocol since 2018, a role in which he contributes to the blockchain platform.
