Having worked with the likes of Lord Sugar and James Caan, Yasmina Siadatan is one of Britain’s most successful businesswomen. After graduating from the London School of Economics she followed in her father’s footsteps and went into the restaurant business, opening Mya Lacarte alongside her brother Matthew. In 2009 Yasmina entered the fifth series of reality show The Apprentice which sees business people compete for a £100,000 a year job within world renowned entrepreneur Lord Sugar’s company.
She was a strong contender from the very first task and her performance in the notorious interview stage of the competition was highly praised. She won the competition defeating Kate Walsh in the final, joining former winner Lee McQueen in Lord Sugar’s company Amscreen Health Care. Her role as Business Development Manager in the organisation meant she was in charge of selling digital screens to health services. After taking maternity leave in 2010, she did not return to the company but has been described by Lord Sugar as 'being welcome back any time'.
In 2012 she was headhunted by Dragons' Den star James Caan to join his recruitment firm Hamilton Bradshaw as Head of Operations. Together they then worked alongside the Government to create the Start Up Loans Company which provides funding, advice and mentoring to UK businesses that need loans. Yasmina had the role of Creative Director and was in charge of marketing, media and communications. Extremely versatile she continues to run her award-winning restaurants in Reading, with Mya Lacarte earning a Michelin star nomination and being named amongst the top 50 restaurants on the planet. She also regularly contributes to Sky News offering her opinion on the latest business issues.
