Tyra Banks

Tyra Banks is best known as a TV personality, having forged a successful career acting and presenting on various American programmes. Having also enjoyed the time as one of the world’s top-earning models, Tyra is now a popular choice as a host for events and makes celebrity appearances at top occasions.

A highly recognisable figure in the entertainment industry, Tyra has forged a reputation for hosting and is currently the host of Dancing with the Stars. Throughout her career, Tyra has acted in various programmes including the like of Higher Learning, Coyote Ugly, Gossip Girl and Glee. She was also the long-running presenter of America’s Next Top Model and had her own talk show titled The Tyra Banks Show. Tyra has also enjoyed a successful career as a model, having acted as a Victoria’s Secret Angel and been the first woman of African-American descent to be shown on the front cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and GQ.

Back when she was just 15 years old, Tyra began her career as a model. Initially signed to L.A. Models, Tyra has also modelled for Elite Model Management and been featured in editorials for various editions of Vogue, Harper’s Bazar, Vanity Fair and Elle. She is widely remembered as one of the world’s top-earning models and was awarded the VH1 Award for Supermodel of the Year. Tyra was then fortunate to begin a career in television, scouted to join the cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. From that point on, Tyra was hired for multiple other acting jobs including acting in Shake It Up, Life-Size 2 and Halloween: Resurrection.

Outside of acting and modelling, Tyra has also founded Tyra Beauty and starred in many music videos. She has also authored the book Modelland and was the co-author of Tyra’s Beauty, Inside and Out. Tyra is also a passionate philanthropist, having founded the TZONE Program, focussing on developing leadership and life skills, and the Tyra Banks Scholarship which provides the opportunity to attend Immaculate Heart High School to African-American girls. In relation to this, Tyra has also worked as a Personal Branding Guest Lecturer at Stanford University.
