Tom Morley has enjoyed a successful career as a musician and is now following his passion for teamwork as an entertainer and speaker for corporate events. Part of Scritti Politti back in his 20s, Tom learnt the importance of working as a team after the band made the majority of its songs up on the spot. A true believer that people can achieve greatness when they overcome their fears, Tom is now booked as a speaker for corporate events to share how teamwork and teambuilding can eliminate such fears.
Before joining the world of corporate entertainment, Tom was famed as a founding member and the original drummer of Scritti Politti. Originally a punk-inspired band, they soon transitioned to performing mainstream pop music and had numerous UK Top 20 tracks. Enjoying many successful years with the band, Tom has since left and used the sense of teamwork he experienced in music to influence his proficiency as a corporate teambuilding expert. Tom is also the founder of Instant Teamwork, a leading organisation that specialises in arts-based team-building exercises. He has also supported charities such as Teenage Cancer Trust, Save The Children, MENCAP and Peace One Day throughout his career.
Having experienced over four decades on stage and entertaining crowds, Tom first entered the limelight when he and his friends formed Scritti Politti. With Tom on the drums and his friends Nial and Green on vocals and bass, the band had their first gig performing with the punk group SOS. From that point on the band was immensely successful, signed to prime labels such as Warner Bros and Virgin. Tom played with the band until the 1980s, before leaving to focus on his own interests. Tom later went on to become a songwriter and then studied psychology and facilitation whilst he was in his 40s. Such studies allowed Tom to have a better understanding of the human mind, something which helps him in his teambuilding corporate events.
Establishing his company, Instant Teamwork, in his 50s, Tom has since worked with a whole range of corporate clients to help them improve their team bonding with sessions of music and humour that encourages teams to come together. Having worked with teams of 5000 all the way down to teams of just five, Tom uses his creative talent to encourage participants in his events to leave their comfort zone and join in his stand-up comedy. Creating an atmosphere of pure enjoyment, Tom helps audiences to take the feelings they have experienced during his events back to the workplace, making it a happier and healthier environment.
Over the past 20 years, Tom has performed for hundreds of different teams and helped them with tips on sustainable teamwork that leave them feeling energised to create change. He has formerly been hired by companies such as Nokia, Hertz, GSK, Adecco, Johnson & Johnson, Walt Disney and Vodafone to name but a few. An expert in corporate teamwork and teambuilding, Tom Morley is the perfect speaker for a range of corporate events to boost the value of team collaboration and working in harmony.
