Tom Cheesewright is a leading futurist, currently sharing his perspective on the future as an Applied Futurist for Book of the Future. After achieving a BEng in Mechatronics at Lancaster University, Tom began his corporate career as an Account Director for Noiseworks, where he was the head of the telecoms team. He later went on to work as a Marketing Consultant for IO Communications and a Content Director for The Lever, demonstrating his corporate versatility and broad-ranging knowledge. Finding a passion for marketing, Tom also worked as a Strategy Consultant for And Digital, before returning to Noiseworks as an Associate Director. After several years in business, Tom created his own company, co-founding CANDDi – Campaign and Digital Intelligence Limited.
In 2012, Tom first became interested in futurism, having now worked as an Applied Futurist at Book of the Future for a decade. Creating visions of the future, Tom uses tools for foresight, narrative planning and agile organisation design, working with all manner of clients from global tech giants to FTSE 100 enterprises. Tom is also the creator of the TMRW Conference, a conference dedicated to looking at four key themes of futurism – future business, future communications, future cities and future humans. The line-up of Tom’s conference included the likes of Professor Brian Cox and Tom Lovejoy, exploring the realms of future generations and trends. Utilising his detailed knowledge as a futurist, Tom has also authored the books Future-Proof Your Business and High Frequency Change. Most recently, in 2023, Tom was appointed as the Chairman of Ponoma Partners, adding further credibility to his stature as a futurist.
