Tim signed for Coventry City in 2004 and captained the team for a season before retiring from playing football.
Starting his coaching career, Tim joined Tottenham Hotspur as an assistant first-team coach under the management of Harry Redknapp and progressed to head coach. After a brief stint as manager of Aston Villa, which saw multiple successes, he started working as a football pundit for BT Sport, whilst serving as Director of Football at Swindon Town for a season.
