Former firefighter for the Fire Department of New York, Tim Brown has an inspirational tale to tell. Having worked during some of America’s most horrific terrorist attacks, Tim has proudly lived to tell the tale and is a survivor of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centre. Tim has witnessed terrible things throughout his tenure as a firefighter, with his bravery and commitment to the forces frequently commended. Today he is sought as a public speaker to help remember those who innocently lost their lives on 9/11, as well as covering topical subjects such as post-traumatic stress, hope, resilience and grief.
As a first responder in the FDNY, Tim tirelessly fought to save the lives of innocent people. Some of his most prominent deployments include the 1993 terrorist attack on the WTC and the 1995 terrorist attack that took place at the Alfred P.Murrah Federal Building. A veteran member of the New York Urban Search & Rescue Task Force, Tim was also deployed for action when the four jets struck the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre. Fortunately, Tim survived the horrific occurrences of 9/11, but 93 of his fellow firefighters and friends were lost during the fight to save lives. Tim unfortunately also lost two of his best friends during the attacks, experiencing huge grief which he today speaks about as a public speaker.
Tim has proven an instrumental member of the forces, having been selected to provide lifesaving support to countless cases. He also formerly served in the Rescue Co.3, in the Mayor Giuliani’s Office of Emergency Management, as a special assistant to the Secretary of Health and Human Services, as a first responder to the Rhode Island Station Nightclub fire and during the Anthrax terrorist attacks in 2001 and 2002. During his time in the forces, Tim has also earned top-secret government clearance and was a founding member of the US Department of Homeland Security.
Remembered as a prominent member of the forces, Tim is now highly sought to appear on television to speak of his experiences. Tim is a leading figure in ensuring that the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attack are not forgotten, making sure that those who lost their lives on that day are remembered throughout history. He has been invited to speak on programmes such as FOX News, CNBC and CNN as well as featuring in two documentaries titled Forever Changed 9/11 in Remembrance and Rebirth.
Today, Tim is highly sought as a public speaker to cover topics of remembrance, grief and post-traumatic stress. Formerly, Tim has spoken to several high-profile organisations including the likes of the Kansas State Senate Judiciary Committee, Maine EMS and the Police Officers Association of Michigan and has even delivered to students at the Harvard Medical School.
